pulingina (welcome) to Briar Blooms Boutique
Respectufully located on Gubbi Gubbi Country in the Sunshine Coast. A First Nations owned and operated boutique specialising in Contemporary Aboriginal Art, Botanicals, Homewares and Gifts.
ya (hello), I am Domica, a proud pakana woman from lutruwita (Tasmania).
I am a Contemporary Aboriginal Artist and began painting more as a way of healing after the loss of my first luwutina (child), a little girl named Briar.
Originally a secondary school teacher, I'm now finding my path exploring symbols and stories from past ancestors. I continually learn, combine my knowledge, talent and life experiences and extend them into my work. My style is contemporary and vibrant combined with some traditional elements. I make connections through the tones and hues chosen in each piece.
I just wanted to say I have just received my package and wanted to let you know that I love it so much. It is absolutely beautiful, I thought it was beautiful in the photos but to see it in real life is really breathtaking. My sons loved reading the meaning of the art, so thank you for that personal touch.Melbourne, VIC
Thank you for my floral arrangements and Christmas wreath! They are all so wonderful. I have never had a Christmas wreath on my door, but your unique pieces were easily convincing to finally get one! If only we didn't need security screens in Townsville, it would look much more beautiful! Thanks again.Townsville, QLD
I have made several purchases from Briar Blooms now, including a gorgeous custom arrangement for my new niece, a custom arrangement as a birthday present and a Christmas wreath which I have left up well after the festivities are over! All the the pieces are beautiful, and are perfect for a non-green thumb like me! I absolutely love all Briar Blooms pieces and I highly recommend them!Bass Coat, VIC
