'A Healing Journey'
Briar Blooms is proud to present their very first Art Exhibition 'A Healing Journey', featuring Domica Hill. This exhibition was created in loving memory of Briar Primrose Hill. Briar was born sleeping on the 30.06.2020 and since that day Domica has began a creative healing journey through her art. The theme depicts her journey through culture, connections and life. It includes a series of works that are influenced by family, friends and the country she lives on. The style throughout it is feminine, fun and engaging - focusing on nature, events, Mother Earth and her surroundings.
About The Artist
Bass Coast based Contemporary Aboriginal Artist, Palawa woman Domica Hill has been edging her skills in art for the past three years. Originally a secondary school teacher, Domica has spent the past two years working with Wanyara. This path found her exploring symbols and stories from past ancestors and she is now using her talent to extend this into her own works, utilizing a contemporary style combined with some traditional elements to tell stories of the surrounding country she lives on.

This piece represents the people who make up family and community. It’s about seeing blessings in what you do have. Through a meaningful reliance on each other you do not just take but you give. This is what forms the deep meaningful connection to one another. In this painting you will find the large circles intertwined representing the people closest to you. Below them are friends and other community that are always there when needed. In the sky are stars representing our ancestors who we have been reliant on previously and who still play a major role in being connected to our life today.
